There are different ways through which customers can find your solution (app) or consulting service. On AppExchange, they type search keywords into the search bar.
Customers can also find your listing using external search providers like Google. The visibility of your listing will depend on how well you are ranked using the keywords. Most of the time, customers use particular keywords to look for consulting services. AppExchange gives the matching results based on keyword relevance. That's why including a keyword in a listing helps it appear when customers search for it.
Also, it is essential to note that listing a keyword several times doesn’t help to improve the ranking of that listing. Customers also use filters to sort results they can look for any particular app category, rating, popularity, price, Salesforce edition, and other attributes.
No, you don't need to have AppExchange Publishing Organization (APO) for publishing your app on AppExchange.
Instead, you can connect the organization to the AppExchange publishing console. To do so, you have to go to the Publishing page in the Partner Community, and then click the Organizations tab.
Also ensure that you have the “Manage Listings” permission in the Partner Community before you connect an organization.
It depends on the package type and whether the AppExchange solution has passed the security review.
In case a managed package passes through the Salesforce security review, any custom apps, tables, or objects used by it would not be counted against the related Salesforce org limits. In addition to this, the package would also not count against the contractual license limits of Salesforce org.
But if there is an unmanaged package, any resources used by it would be counted against the related limits in your org, even if it passes the security review.
Yes. You have to be a Salesforce ISV partner to list an app on Salesforce AppExchange. You can be a partner through two stages.
1. Pre-contract: For this, you have to sign up to be a Salesforce ISV and acquire access to a Partner Business Org.
2. Post-contract: For this, you have to sign an ISV agreement with Salesforce. You can go for it even after you have built your app.
